Out of nearly 360 proposals submitted, 29 projects will be supported by ERC Synergy Grants with a total amount of €295 million. Most of the host institutions of the funded researchers are in Germany (23 Principal Investigators [PI] on 14 projects), France (22 PI on 15 projects), and Israel (7 PI on 4 projects). 16 PIs will work in the USA, Australia, UK or Switzerland.
The ERC Synergy Grants are endowed with a maximum of 10 million euros per project. They are aimed at teams of two to four outstanding researchers.
