On 21 March, the European Commission signed a new ‘implementing arrangement’ with the Canadian Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat (TIPS). The arrangement is further intensifying the bilateral cooperation, already existing since 2016.
The agreement offers researchers supported by the Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the opportunity to temporarily join research teams of ERC grantees.
In addition to the agreement with Canada, there are currently 12 other agreements in force with non-EU countries, including the USA, South Africa and Australia.
