The ERC has published its Work Programme 2025. As expected, the calls and funding lines remain largely unchanged. The deadlines for the ERC funding lines, along with the deadlines for submitting draft proposals to the NCP ERC for review, can be found on our Website. Please note that the review by the NCP ERC focuses on Part B1 of the application.
Among the few changes in the work programme is the rephrasing of the reasons for extending the eligibility windows for Starting and Consolidator Grants. Instead of 'natural disasters', 'major disasters' are now considered as a reason for extension, explicitly including human-induced disasters. Disabilities are also explicitly taken into account; as with long-term illnesses, an employer confirmation has to be submitted.
Additionally, the evaluation procedure for Synergy Grant applications has been adjusted to accommodate the growing number of applications: the budgetary cut-off in stage 2 of the evaluation is now up to three times the panel budget (previously it was four times), and the number and composition of panels will be more flexibly arranged.
