The results of the final round of the 2024 Proof-of-Concept (PoC) call are now available. A total of 134 projects have been selected for funding, marking the completion of the 2024 PoC call, which consisted of two deadlines. The highest number of PoC grants in the second 2024 call went to researchers based at institutions in Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands (15 each). Applicants from Spain and the UK (14 each), Israel (12), Belgium (11), and France (10) were also very successful.
Across both PoC calls in 2024, a total of 698 applications were submitted, with 245 projects selected for funding, resulting in a success rate of 35 percent.
ERC grantees can apply for a PoC grant to explore the innovation potential of their ERC-funded research over a period of twelve months, receiving a lump sum of €150,000. Since November 13, 2024, the Proof-of-Concept 2025 call has been open. The ERC Work Programme 2025 includes two deadlines: interested ERC grantees can submit their applications by either March 13, 2025, or September 18, 2025. The budget is evenly distributed between both deadlines. More information on the results, including the projects selected for funding, can be found in the Press release.
