Registration for the ERC Starting Grant 2024 Interview Trainings

The ERC National Contact Point (NCP ERC) supports ERC Starting Grant candidates with online trainings in preparing for their interview. We are offering a total of twelve online training sessions.

In these individual training sessions (Part II), we provide candidates with a simulated interview experience. Each candidate will present in front of the mock panel and rehearse the Q&A session for approximately 30 minutes. A professional trainer will facilitate the sessions, offering feedback, while colleagues from the NCP ERC and the other candidates will serve as the mock panel.

These training sessions target ERC Starting Grant 2024 candidates with a German host institution who have received the interview invitations and who have no training opportunity at their institutions. If you already have access to individual coaching elsewhere, we kindly ask you to make use of this possibility and to keep the NCP ERC training free for colleagues who do not have this opportunity.

The NCP training sessions will take place online from the end of April until the end of May. The individual training sessions (Part II) which will be conducted in small groups, will be offered for candidates from all three domains (PE, LS and SH). In addition to the individual training sessions, the NCP ERC offers a general information event (Part I).

The general information event (Part I) will take place on 25 April 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 am.

For the individual training sessions (Part II), the dates are expectedly as follows:

  • 3 May 2024, 08:30-12:30 (preferably PE domain)

Part II trainings are already fully booked. Registration for those is thus no longer possible.

Registration Part I only

Places fill up quickly, so we recommend that you register as soon as registration opens.

For a successful registration, the upload of the following two documents (possible formats: pdf, ppt, doc, docx, jpg) is required.:

  • Your interview invitation letter
  • B1 part of your ERC application

Please also upload the Annex I. If not yet available, upload Annex I as soon as you have received it. Annex I, usually sent a few weeks after the initial invitation, contains panel specifications such as Power Point requirements, candidate speaking time, total interview duration, etc.

The following documents are not mandatory, but helpful for a comprehensive feedback:

  • Draft slides for the interview (according to the panel's specifications)
  • B2-part of the proposal

Registration is limited to one time slot per candidate, and you must register using a personal email address.

If a training is fully booked, a short waiting list is open for registration until the registration for that training is closed. Once you have registered for a waiting list, you cannot sign up for another training. You can also cancel your registration using the personal access link sent to you. Please note that registration for a waiting list is not a confirmation for participation. You will receive further notifications if slots become available.

NCP ERC reserves the right to exclude candidates who do not meet the specified criteria or have not submitted complete documentation.
